The Fuzhong area, located along both sides of Wenhua Road in Banqiao District, has long served as one of the district's primary administrative and urban-living centers. Timely renewal of idle or aging sectors within the area therefore becomes a key priority, representing a leading initiative for urban regeneration in both Banqiao District and across New Taipei City.
In response, the New Taipei City Government has launched the "Urban Renewal Plan for Two Parcels of Public and Private Land, Including Lot No. 743 of the Minquan Section, Banqiao District" to select a qualified urban renewal implementer. Through an open, competitive selection process, the City Government seeks a high-quality urban renewal implementer capable of integrating public-sector regulatory oversight and public-interest objectives with private-sector innovation and implementation capacity. Successful redevelopment of this renewal unit is expected to serve as a model for future urban renewal projects in the Fuzhong area, strengthen public confidence in privately initiated renewal projects, and advance New Taipei City's renewal policy of "private-sector leadership with public support; citywide implementation with broad public participation."
This renewal unit is located at the northeast corner of the intersection of Section 1, Wenhua Road and Minquan Road in Banqiao District, New Taipei City, encompassing a non-contiguous block. The buildings within the block are all over 30 years old, presenting seismic and fire-safety risks, resulting in substandard living conditions that compromise resident safety and detract from the cityscape. By utilizing the urban renewal mechanism, this project aims to reconstruct the site, improve local residential functions, enhance the aesthetic quality of the urban environment, and elevate overall living standards, thereby creating a safer and satisfying living environment.
